As your wedding is approaching here are some questions that will help the day run smoother so that you can relax and enjoy it!

Bride Morning Prep

Are bride and groom getting ready in same building/location?

Please include postcodes and websites if applicable and also any necessary specific directions to find you if needed!

Who is in the Bridal party?

Their names please. Flower girls? Maid of Honour etc?

Do you have any hair/makeup/anything else booked in?

And what is the timeline for hair and make-up etc?

What time are you leaving to the service? How are you getting there?

If getting ready in same location as service then let me know this too!

What time is the service to begin? What time do you expect to be leaving for the service and how are you getting there?

Are there any specifics you would like photographed (or not photographed) for the bride in the morning?

Don't worry if not as I will be capturing the main details and events anyway. If the timeline allows it then I usually try photograph the bridal party together but this can also be done later.

Groom Morning Prep

Do you require photography for the groom/groomsmen?

If so, where will you be getting ready (room, if known)and from what time?

Please include who the best man is and any other relevant information about groomsmen. Who has the rings?

The Ceremony

Address and location of the ceremony.

Please include anything I need to know about accessing the location i.e. if there is a certain place to park etc if applicable

Are there any readings or other things going on during the service?

Any restrictions/problems/anything else I need to know about?

Please also include anything you'd like me to know about the ceremony here (rough number of guests at the ceremony etc.)

The Reception

Reception address (please include postcodes and websites if applicable)

If it's in the same building as ceremony do you know the room? Don't worry if not.

What are the transport plans for getting there?

What are the plans/timings for the reception? What time are things happening

Canapés, eating, speeches, champagne tower etc? How many guests?

Would your timeline allow for group/couple photographs before the meal/during reception?

The reception/ after the ceremony is the best time to get the group photos done and perhaps some couple photos too. I have a separate section at the end of the questionnaire about group photos.

The Meal

Usually this is when I leave you alone for a while and get something to eat myself. I'll be back for speeches, just let me know when they are.

Where will your meal be held?

When do you plan to do speeches and who will be doing them?

Evening

Do you have any specific events or surprises planned that I might need to know about in advance?

When do you plan to have cake cutting and first dance?

Do worry if you don't have specific times, just which do you plan first etc.?

What are the plans for the entertainment? And when is the curfew?

I'll usually leave after I've got a few shots of you and guests having fun on the dancefloor but I'll come and make sure there's nothing else you'd like photographed before I leave.

Are there any paticular moments you wish me to capture in the evening?

I'm happy to get more couple shots if needed here when you have time (sunset photos etc).

Group & Couple Photos

Group Photo List

Please list any specific group photo lists you want here (names please). Obviously it is your day, and I will do my best to get all the photos you want, but keep in mind that even with the best ushering in the world it can still take 4-5 minutes to find and arrange a group of people for a photo - so try keep the numbers of shots small.

Designated photo helper:

It's often super helpful if you can nominate an usher/friend/bridesmaid etc (or 2!) to help arrange/find the people for the above photos and to help keep things as smooth and quick as possible on the day. Ideally someone in the bride/grooms party who knows most of the key people and someone happy to shout and organise people! If you could introduce me to them if they're available before the ceremony and make sure they've got a copy of a list of the images we need and if you could list the ideal candidate here that would be great!

Other Photos and info:

Anything else I might need to know - photos you specifically want? Portrait locations you would like to use? Family politics I might need to be aware of!? Anything at all...

Details photo

Sometimes referred to as a 'flatlay' details shot. This is something that I like to organise with the bride and groom to have ready for me (perhaps altogether in a box) and I can photograph this during the morning prep so you have all your items back for getting ready. It includes things like: wedding invitation, the rings and ring boxes, flowers, jewellery and/or cufflinks, the brides shoes, anything that is significant to you and your relationship/wedding, your something old, something new etc. I've attached a photo (note, not mine) beside this form to give you an idea of what a detail shot is.

Is this something you would like photographed and if so, what would you like to include?

You don't need to know exactly what items you'd like just now but just as long as you have them altogether for me to take a quick photo of in the morning.

Are you happy for me to post photos from your day on social media and my website to help my business? Don't worry I generally don't post group/family photos.
